Pool Corporation (POOLCORP) is the largest wholesale distributor of swimming pool supplies, equipment, and related products in the world. POOLCORP distributes roughly 200,000 products — including pool chemicals, pumps, heaters, filters, building materials, tile, and pool surfaces — to about 125,000 trade professionals (pool builders, service and repair companies, specialty retailers, and commercial operators) through 456 sales centers in North America, Europe, and Australia. POOLCORP makes money by buying from manufacturers and reselling at a markup to trade professionals who value local availability, broad product selection, and support services. About 64% of sales are maintenance and minor repair products (chemicals, replacement parts), which are recurring and relatively non-discretionary; about 22% are remodel and renovation; and about 14% are new pool construction, the most cyclical segment. POOLCORP operates five distribution networks — SCP Distributors, Superior Pool Products, Horizon Distributors (irrigation and landscape), NPT (tile and finishes), and Sun Wholesale (serving Pinch A Penny franchises). Key growth levers include expansion of its private label chemical brands, its POOL360 digital ordering and water-testing platform, new sales center openings, and the growing installed base of roughly 5.5M U.S. in-ground pools. The business is highly seasonal, with roughly 61% of net sales and 78% of operating income occurring in Q2 and Q3. POOLCORP is highly cash-generative and returns substantial capital to shareholders through dividends and buybacks.
