DESCRIPTION

374Water is an early-stage cleantech company built around a proprietary waste destruction technology called AirSCWO (supercritical water oxidation), which destroys organic waste by injecting it into a high-pressure, high-temperature reactor where supercritical water and air rapidly oxidize organic matter. The technology achieves waste destruction rates of 99.95% or better, leaving behind dischargeable water, inert minerals, and recoverable heat. The most commercially compelling use case is destroying PFAS ("forever chemicals") — synthetic compounds that conventional methods cannot reliably eliminate. Customers include municipal wastewater facilities dealing with PFAS-contaminated biosolids, federal agencies (primarily DoD and DoE) with stockpiles of PFAS-laden firefighting foam, and industrial waste handlers. 374Water offers three commercial models: a Waste Destruction Services (WDS) model where 374Water owns and operates systems and charges per-unit tipping fees, outright capital sales paired with service agreements, and leases under long-term operating arrangements. Management prefers the WDS model for its recurring revenue and higher margins. A key element of the WDS strategy is placing systems at licensed hazardous waste facilities (TSDFs), where the host provides permitting and logistics while 374Water processes third-party waste. 374Water offers four system sizes — AS1, AS6, AS30, and AS100+ — scaled by daily destruction capacity, with the AS6 as the current primary commercial unit. The company is pre-profit and at an early commercialization stage, funding operations through equity raises.
