DESCRIPTION

Guess? is a global lifestyle apparel and accessories brand that designs, markets, distributes, and licenses clothing and accessories blending American casual with European fashion. Core product lines include jeans, dresses, activewear, outerwear, and intimates, alongside accessories spanning handbags, footwear, eyewear, watches, fragrance, and jewelry. Guess? sells through three channels: directly operated retail stores and e-commerce, wholesale to department stores and boutiques, and licensing agreements covering both product categories and retail territories. As of FY25, Guess? directly operated 1,070 retail stores and 233 concessions globally, with partners running another 527 licensed stores across roughly 100 countries. The company reports five segments: Europe (~53% of revenue), Americas Retail (~27%), Americas Wholesale (~9%), Asia (~8%), and Licensing (~3%). Europe is the most profitable segment, where Guess? is positioned as accessible luxury and has been gaining wholesale share. Americas Retail has been the primary source of weakness, with persistent traffic and comp store sales declines. The Licensing segment is small but highly profitable, with operating margins running around 90-95%. In April 2024, Guess? completed its first brand acquisition — rag & bone, a premium New York fashion brand with roughly $250M in prior annual sales — sharing its intellectual property with JV partner WHP Global. Guess? also recently launched Guess Jeans, a denim-focused brand targeting Gen Z consumers, which management views as a $100M+ revenue opportunity.
