DESCRIPTION

Oncotelic Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company with no approved products or commercial revenue, focused on developing cancer treatments. The company operates primarily through GMP Bio, a joint venture formed in 2022 with Dragon Overseas Capital in which Oncotelic holds a 45% interest. The JV's lead asset is OT-101 (trabedersen), an antisense oligonucleotide targeting TGF-β2, a protein that suppresses immune response and promotes tumor growth. OT-101 is being developed across several indications including high-grade glioma, pancreatic cancer, and pediatric DIPG, a rare and fatal brain tumor. The JV also advances the Deciparticle nanomedicine platform, which reformulates well-known oncology drugs (paclitaxel, everolimus, carboplatin, palbociclib, and docetaxel) using ultra-small nanoparticles intended to improve tumor penetration and tolerability. Outside the JV, Oncotelic holds wholly-owned assets including CA4P and OXi4503, two vascular disrupting agents, and an AI-enabled drug discovery platform called PDAOAI. Oncotelic's business model revolves around advancing clinical programs toward regulatory approval, then licensing, commercializing, or monetizing them via strategic transactions. A key near-term value lever is the FDA's Rare Pediatric Disease voucher program: Oncotelic holds RPD designations across three programs, and FDA approval in any of these indications would yield a Priority Review Voucher that can be sold to third parties. Oncotelic is also pursuing a JV IPO as a liquidity event for its ownership stake in GMP Bio.
