DESCRIPTION

Ohio Valley Banc Corp. is a small community bank holding company headquartered in Gallipolis, Ohio, serving southeastern Ohio and western West Virginia through its primary subsidiary, The Ohio Valley Bank Company. The Bank operates 18 branch offices and offers a standard suite of community banking products, including commercial real estate, C&I, residential mortgage, and consumer loans, as well as deposits, trust and fiduciary services, and online banking. Ohio Valley's loan portfolio is anchored by commercial loans, which represent roughly 53% of total loans, followed by residential real estate at roughly 34%, and consumer loans at roughly 13%. Ohio Valley also owns Loan Central, a consumer finance subsidiary with six offices in southeastern Ohio that makes small-balance personal and mortgage loans to borrowers who don't qualify under the Bank's standard credit criteria — extending Ohio Valley's reach into higher-risk, higher-yield consumer lending. Ohio Valley's business model is a classic community bank spread model: it takes in deposits and lends that money out at higher rates, with loan interest and fees driving roughly 78% of total revenues. The Bank sells a portion of fixed-rate mortgage originations to Freddie Mac to manage interest rate risk, earning fee income in the process. Ohio Valley also earns fee income from trust services, insurance commissions, and tax-related services, including short-term Tax Refund Advance Loans made to Loan Central's tax preparation customers.
