DESCRIPTION

SLB (formerly Schlumberger) is the world's largest oilfield services company, providing the technology, equipment, and services that oil and gas companies need to find, drill, complete, and produce hydrocarbons. SLB sells to national oil companies, integrated oil companies, and independent operators across more than 100 countries, with roughly 80% of revenue generated internationally. SLB operates through four divisions: Well Construction (~32% of revenue), which provides drilling services and equipment tied closely to rig activity; Production Systems (~45% of revenue), the largest division, covering subsea systems, artificial lift, completions, and production chemicals — expanded by the 2025 acquisition of ChampionX; Reservoir Performance (~19% of revenue), covering wireline logging, hydraulic fracturing, and well interventions; and Digital (~9% of revenue), which sells software platforms, data products, and digital services, including the Delfi and Lumi platforms, with annual recurring revenue surpassing $1B in 2025. The Digital division carries meaningfully higher margins than the core divisions and SLB argues it grows independently of E&P capital spending cycles. Beyond oilfield services, SLB is building businesses in adjacent markets, most notably Data Center Solutions, which designs modular data center infrastructure for hyperscalers and is targeting $1B in annualized revenue by end of 2026, as well as early-stage ventures in carbon capture, geothermal, and critical minerals. SLB generates consistent free cash flow and returns capital to shareholders through dividends and buybacks.
