DarkPulse is a small, early-stage technology company with two main businesses: fiber optic sensing systems and custom drone manufacturing. DarkPulse's core technology is a patented BOTDA (Brillouin Optical Time-Domain Analysis) fiber optic sensing system, which uses fiber optic cable installed along physical infrastructure — pipelines, bridges, mines, and borders — to monitor temperature, strain, stress, and structural health in real time. DarkPulse argues its dark-pulse approach offers higher resolution and faster data acquisition than competing bright-pulse systems. Despite years of development, the BOTDA system has not yet generated any commercial revenue; DarkPulse has built two demonstration units and expects to place a production order with contract manufacturer Sanmina in Q2 2026. Through its subsidiary TerraData Unmanned, DarkPulse custom manufactures NDAA-compliant drones and unmanned ground crawlers, with a flagship long-endurance quadcopter marketed for surveillance, inspection, and detection. DarkPulse also operates legacy telecom and security systems integration businesses in India and Turkey (Optilan India and Optilan Turkey), acquired out of liquidation in 2024, which currently provide virtually all of the company's revenue. DarkPulse's intended business model is project-based — customers contract for system design, installation, hardware, and ongoing monitoring services — with hardware built to order rather than held in inventory.
