DESCRIPTION

Pressure BioSciences (PBIO) is a small, pre-profitability life sciences company built around high-pressure technology platforms for scientific research, biopharmaceutical manufacturing, and consumer health. Its primary focus — roughly 90% of resources — is its UltraShear Technology (UST) platform, which uses ultra-high-pressure discharge above 30,000 psi to create nanoemulsions: tiny, stable, water-compatible droplets of oil-soluble active ingredients like CBD, curcumin, and vitamins D, E, and K. The core value proposition is improved bioavailability of these ingredients, which are naturally poorly absorbed by the body. Near-term, PBIO sells bulk nanoemulsified products B2B to distributors and brand owners, and direct-to-consumer through its Uncle Bud's Health & Wellness subsidiary. Longer-term, PBIO plans to shift UST toward a lease-and-license model, placing BaroShear instruments at customer sites and charging monthly lease fees plus royalties on product sales. PBIO's secondary platform, PCT (Pressure Cycling Technology), uses alternating pressure cycles to extract biomolecules from biological samples for research labs. PCT is the current primary source of recurring revenue, sold via a razor-and-blade model: Barocycler instruments drive ongoing consumable purchases. PBIO's third platform, BaroFold, uses high pressure to refold proteins for biopharmaceutical manufacturing, offered as fee-for-service and licensing. PBIO operates at a meaningful cash burn and has funded itself primarily through equity and debt issuances.
