Republic's business model is built entirely on long-term Capacity Purchase Agreements (CPAs) with its partner airlines, under which Republic earns fixed fees per departure and block hour, while the partner airlines cover fuel, landing fees, and ground handling directly. This insulates Republic from fare competition, passenger load factors, and fuel price swings — making it more like a contracted services business than a traditional airline. Key profitability drivers are fleet size and utilization, cost efficiency, and flight completion rates. Following a November 2025 merger with Mesa Air Group, Republic's committed fleet grew to 306 aircraft. Republic also owns LIFT Academy, a flight school that trains pilots and feeds graduates directly into Republic's workforce — a meaningful advantage given pilot supply constraints across the industry.
