Park Aerospace designs and manufactures advanced composite materials, primarily thermoset prepregs, for the aerospace, defense, and space industries. Its core products are proprietary resin-impregnated fabrics used to build structures for aircraft, jet engines, and missile systems. Park Aerospace also produces film adhesives, lightning strike protection, and specialty ablative materials for rocket motor nozzles and heat shields. Park Aerospace serves two primary markets: commercial aerospace and defense. In commercial aerospace, Park Aerospace is a sole-source supplier for GE Aerospace-powered engine programs, including the Airbus A320neo family and the Boeing 777X. In the defense sector, Park Aerospace provides specialty materials for missile programs such as the PAC-3 Patriot. The business model depends on qualifying materials for specific programs, which creates high switching costs and leads to long-term revenue streams. Park Aerospace also acts as the exclusive North American distributor for ArianeGroup’s RAYCARB C2B fabric. To support a ramp in commercial aircraft production and rising missile demand, Park Aerospace is building a new manufacturing plant to double its capacity. It is also negotiating a new domestic fabric manufacturing facility with ArianeGroup to secure its supply chain for defense programs.
