DESCRIPTION

Cintas provides uniforms, facility services, and workplace safety products to over one million businesses across the U.S., Canada, and Latin America. The core business is uniform rental: Cintas picks up dirty garments weekly, launders them at its processing plants, and returns them to customers, handling all capital investment, repairs, replacements, and inventory management. Alongside uniforms, Cintas delivers floor mats, mops, shop towels, restroom supplies, and cleaning products on the same route trucks. Cintas operates through three segments: Uniform Rental and Facility Services (~77% of revenue), First Aid and Safety Services (~12%), and a catch-all segment (~11%) that includes Fire Protection Services and Uniform Direct Sale. The business model is built on recurring, route-based service contracts, with revenue driven by the number of customer locations, products per customer, and modest annual price increases. Profitability is heavily driven by operating leverage, as the route infrastructure and laundry facilities are largely fixed costs that scale as more revenue flows through the same route structure. Cintas targets 25–35% incremental operating margins. Growth comes from converting businesses that currently self-manage workwear ("no-programmers"), cross-selling additional products into existing accounts, targeting focused verticals like healthcare and hospitality, and acquiring regional operators. Cintas has paid a higher dividend every year since going public, a streak of 41 consecutive years as of FY25.
