DESCRIPTION

Community Bancorp is the holding company for Community National Bank, a community bank serving individuals, small-to-medium-sized businesses, nonprofits, and municipalities across northern and central Vermont. The bank operates a main office in Derby, Vermont, eleven branch offices across northeastern and central Vermont, and loan production offices in Chittenden County and Grafton County, New Hampshire. Community National Bank's core business is taking deposits and making loans. On the lending side, the bank offers commercial real estate and business loans, SBA loans, residential mortgages, construction loans, home equity products, and consumer loans including auto and personal. On the deposit side, the bank offers standard checking, savings, and deposit accounts alongside cash management and online banking services. The bank earns money primarily through net interest income — the spread between what it charges on loans and what it pays on deposits. Because Community National Bank is a small community bank with modest fee-generating businesses, earnings are particularly sensitive to interest rate movements and local economic conditions. Ancillary fee income comes from selling residential mortgages into the secondary market, service charges, and trust and wealth management fees through Community Financial Services Group, a non-depository trust company in which Community Bancorp owns a 50% interest. Community Bancorp's growth focus is shifting toward the more economically active central Vermont and Burlington-area markets, where it currently operates loan production offices rather than full-service branches.
