DESCRIPTION

Tarsier is a late clinical-stage Israeli biopharmaceutical company developing TRS01, a steroid-free eye drop for non-infectious anterior uveitis (NIAU). NIAU is a chronic autoimmune disease causing eye inflammation that can lead to blindness. Current treatments rely on corticosteroids, which often increase intraocular pressure and cause glaucoma. TRS01 utilizes dazdotuftide, a new chemical entity, to shift immune cells to an anti-inflammatory state without the safety risks of steroids. Tarsier is currently conducting a Phase 3 trial for TRS01 under an FDA Special Protocol Assessment, with a primary focus on demonstrating superior eye pressure safety. Tarsier also develops TRS02, an injectable formulation for retinal diseases like dry age-related macular degeneration, which is in pre-clinical development. Tarsier is a pre-revenue company that funds operations through equity financing and a planned IPO. Following potential regulatory approval, Tarsier intends to commercialize TRS01 directly in the U.S. by targeting approximately 450 uveitis specialists. This strategy addresses a significant unmet need for approximately 160,000 U.S. patients suffering from both uveitis and glaucoma. Tarsier plans to later expand its reach to general ophthalmologists and international markets through distribution partnerships.
