DESCRIPTION

Tarsier Pharma is a late clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company based in Israel developing dazdotuftide, a novel immunomodulator for inflammatory eye diseases. The company's lead product candidate, TRS01, is a topical eye drop for non-infectious anterior uveitis. Tarsier specifically targets patients with co-existing uveitic glaucoma who are at risk from the intraocular pressure spikes caused by standard corticosteroid treatments. Dazdotuftide shifts macrophages from an inflammatory to an anti-inflammatory state without binding to glucocorticoid receptors, which allows the drug to treat inflammation without driving glaucoma. Tarsier is starting a pivotal Phase 3 trial, Tarsier-04, to evaluate TRS01 for superior intraocular pressure safety compared to steroids. The company’s pipeline also includes TRS02, an injectable formulation of dazdotuftide for retinal diseases such as diabetic macular edema and dry age-related macular degeneration, which is in pre-clinical development. Tarsier is a pre-revenue business that plans to commercialize TRS01 independently in the U.S. by using a small sales force to reach approximately 450 uveitis specialists. The company's strategy involves expanding the TRS01 label for chronic use and entering international markets through regional distributors.
