DESCRIPTION

Electra Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing antibody therapies that selectively deplete disease-causing immune cells while preserving healthy immune function. The company targets signal regulatory proteins (SIRP) expressed on activated immune cells to direct the immune system to eliminate overactive cells. Electra's lead product candidate, ipsoprubart, is a pan-SIRP antibody in registrational clinical trials for secondary hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (sHLH), a rare hyperinflammatory disorder, and is also in early-stage development for T-cell and NK-cell malignancies. Its second candidate, ELA822, is a SIRPγ-specific antibody in Phase 1 trials designed to selectively deplete activated T cells for chronic inflammatory diseases. As a pre-revenue development-stage biopharmaceutical company, Electra utilizes an asset-light model that relies on contract research and manufacturing organizations. If approved, Electra intends to commercialize ipsoprubart directly in the U.S. using a specialized sales team targeting academic medical centers, while pursuing partnerships for international distribution.
