DESCRIPTION

Pinnacle Financial Partners is a Southeast U.S. regional bank operating through its subsidiary Pinnacle Bank, with roughly $57.7B in total assets as of year-end 2025. Pinnacle's core business is commercial banking — lending to and taking deposits from small- to mid-sized businesses. Commercial loans include equipment loans, working capital lines, and commercial real estate loans, while deposit products focus on business operating accounts and treasury management services. Beyond commercial banking, Pinnacle also offers mortgage, investment, trust, and insurance products. Pinnacle also owns a 49% stake in Bankers Healthcare Group, which provides specialty loans to healthcare practitioners and other professionals. Pinnacle's business model centers on net interest income — the spread between rates earned on loans and rates paid on deposits — with fee income from treasury management, trust and investment services, insurance, and capital markets advisory as secondary revenue streams. Pinnacle goes to market through a relationship banking model: hiring experienced local bankers in each market who bring existing client relationships and are empowered to make decisions locally. The pitch is personalized, community-bank service combined with large-bank product breadth. Pinnacle built its footprint from a single Nashville office in 2000 to 141 branches across nine Southeast states by end of 2025. In January 2026, Pinnacle closed a merger with Synovus, a Georgia-based bank, which significantly expands Pinnacle's scale and repositions it as one of the largest banks in the Southeast. The combined company is headquartered in Atlanta and retains the Pinnacle Financial Partners name.
