Guident provides remote monitoring, remote assistance, and teleoperation services for autonomous vehicles (AVs) and robots. Its core product is the Remote Monitoring and Control Center (RMCC) platform, which bridges the gap between autonomous operation and situations where AV software fails — so-called "edge cases." Guident installs hardware in AVs that streams real-time telemetry and video to its control center, where AI software assigns a color-coded risk level and alerts a remote control operator (RCO) when intervention is needed. The RCO can communicate with passengers or take manual control of the vehicle before returning it to autonomous mode. A single RCO currently monitors up to five vehicles simultaneously, and improving this ratio is the key economic lever in Guident's model — as AI reduces the frequency of edge cases, RCO labor costs are spread across more vehicles. Guident's second business is WatchBot, an autonomous security and inspection robot. Guident resells WatchBots manufactured by Star Robotics, adding its own proprietary software for gas leak detection, thermographic analysis, and intruder detection. Guident's preferred revenue model is a recurring subscription for platform access, software, and cloud infrastructure. Customers include municipalities, universities, and commercial operators, sold directly and through AV platform partners. Guident is in very early-stage commercialization, carries a going concern qualification, and is funded primarily through parent-company financing.
