DESCRIPTION

TryHard is a small Japanese lifestyle entertainment company based in Osaka that curates events and manages nightclubs across Japan. The company operates through four segments: club consultancy and management, event curation, sub-leasing, and restaurants. Club management is the dominant business, generating roughly 2.4x the revenue of event curation. TryHard manages day-to-day operations of 16 nightclubs across Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Kyoto, Hiroshima, and Okinawa, covering venue management, artist booking, security, food and beverage, ticketing, and marketing for nightclub owners who want to outsource operations. TryHard earns a fixed monthly retainer plus a commission on each managed club's revenue, creating a relatively recurring, capital-light revenue stream. The event curation business plans and produces events end-to-end — from concept and stage design to ticketing and on-site management — for businesses, municipalities, and event organizers. TryHard's flagship event is MUSIC CIRCUS, a music festival that has attracted over 626,000 attendees over 10 years. Beverage and hospitality brand partnerships, where sponsors like Asahi, Bacardi, Red Bull, and Coca-Cola pay for promotional rights at managed venues, also contribute to revenue. TryHard directly sub-leases five of its 16 managed clubs, acting as a real estate intermediary for entertainment venues. The company also operates two restaurants in Osaka and manages one additional restaurant. TryHard is conducting a Nasdaq IPO as a Cayman Islands holding company, and employs 116 full-time staff.
