DESCRIPTION

Pinnacle Food Group is a Canada-based provider of hydroponic growing systems and related smart farming services. Pinnacle sells hardware — growing racks, trays, light panels, water tanks, and sensors — paired with a "Farming as a Service" (FaaS) subscription model that delivers consumables (seeds, grow sponges, nutrient solutions) and data-driven agronomic support. Pinnacle's product lineup spans multiple customer tiers: compact home units (Model S, Model M) priced from roughly CAD$180 to CAD$1,980, modular and containerized systems for community and small commercial use (Model A, Model A+) at roughly $190,000–$240,000 per unit, and larger commercial systems (Model R for urban farms, Model T for greenhouse-scale operations). Post-IPO, Pinnacle has shifted focus from household buyers toward commercial clients, where a single sale can be orders of magnitude larger than consumer units. Household products are sold through distributors in Canada and New Zealand, while commercial systems are sold directly. Pinnacle sources hardware from OEM manufacturers in China and layers its own software, data platform, and services on top. The FaaS subscriptions scale with system size, from FaaS Plus for home users up to the planned FaaS Nexus for greenhouse customers. Pinnacle also has an early-stage bio-engineering division exploring precision fermentation to produce recombinant human lactoferrin, a protein used in infant nutrition and pharmaceuticals, but this segment is pre-revenue and still in R&D.
