DESCRIPTION

VanEck Solana ETF is a passive exchange-traded fund that holds the Solana cryptocurrency to provide investors with exposure to its price performance through regulated brokerage accounts. The fund trades on Nasdaq and allows shareholders to gain SOL exposure without managing direct custody or storage. A core component of the business model is the trust's ability to stake its SOL holdings. The trust stakes its SOL holdings to help validate transactions on the Solana network in exchange for rewards. VanEck passes these staking rewards to shareholders to potentially enhance total returns. VanEck serves as the sponsor and collects an annual fee based on net assets to cover ordinary operating expenses. SOL Strategies acts as the staking services provider and receives a fee for managing the staked portion of the trust's assets. Authorized Participants, such as registered broker-dealers, facilitate liquidity by creating and redeeming blocks of shares called Baskets using either cash or in-kind SOL transactions. Regular investors trade these shares on the secondary market like a standard equity. VanEck's growth strategy focuses on increasing assets under management by highlighting the compounding benefits of staking rewards relative to competing products. Solana's price and staking rewards directly drive the trust's performance.
