Ascentage Pharma is a China-based commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and selling small-molecule drugs for blood cancers, primarily by targeting proteins that cancer cells depend on to survive (apoptosis). Ascentage sells two approved drugs in China: Olverembatinib, a third-generation BCR-ABL1 tyrosine kinase inhibitor approved for chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) including patients with the T315I mutation, and Lisaftoclax, a Bcl-2 inhibitor approved in July 2025 for relapsed/refractory CLL/SLL. Both drugs are sold to hospitals and pharmacies in China through an in-house commercial team. Olverembatinib is co-commercialized with Innovent Biologics, which covers 60% of the designated target market. Olverembatinib's inclusion on China's National Reimbursement Drug List significantly expands patient access. Beyond China, Ascentage is running registrational Phase 3 trials for both drugs in the U.S., Europe, and other markets. Ascentage has granted Takeda an exclusive option to license Olverembatinib outside China, receiving US$100M upfront with potential milestones and royalties totaling over US$1.2B if the option is exercised. Ascentage manufactures its own drugs at a Suzhou facility capable of producing 250M oral dosage units per year. The company's pipeline includes five additional clinical-stage candidates targeting CML, AML, NSCLC, and other cancers.
