DESCRIPTION

Sunrise is Switzerland's second-largest telecommunications provider, offering mobile, broadband internet, TV, and fixed-line voice services to residential and business customers exclusively in Switzerland. Sunrise sells mobile subscriptions (prepaid and postpaid), home internet, and TV services — often bundled — to residential customers under a premium "Sunrise" brand and lower-price flanker brands including yallo, Lebara, and the newly launched CHmobile. For business customers, Sunrise provides mobile and fixed connectivity, internet and data services, integration services, and wholesale products. Sunrise sells directly through 96 Sunrise shops, 18 yallo locations, its website, call centers, and sales reps, as well as through third-party distributors. The business model is built on recurring monthly subscriptions, with revenue driven by subscriber count and ARPU. Mobile subscriptions carry no fixed term beyond a 60-day notice period, residential fixed subscriptions typically require 12-24 months, and B2B contracts run one to five years. Sunrise also earns one-time revenue from hardware sales and resells content, including exclusive Swiss National League ice hockey broadcasting rights through 2034/35. The Residential segment generates roughly 71% of revenue, with Business Customers & Wholesale contributing the remaining ~29%. The company carries approximately CHF 4.3B in gross debt, making interest expense a significant cash cost alongside heavy network capex (~CHF 500M in FY25 for 5G rollout). Sunrise was spun off from Liberty Global in November 2024 and trades on the SIX Swiss Exchange.
