DESCRIPTION

Sowell is a China-based provider of machine vision products and solutions, which use cameras, image sensors, and AI algorithms to automate visual inspection and analysis tasks. Sowell's products span four categories: industrial machine vision systems that detect manufacturing defects for electronics and PCB factories; AI-based face recognition and behavioral surveillance systems sold to enterprises, schools, and factories; intelligent building management and transportation systems (license plate recognition, toll collection, parking) sold to building operators and government agencies; and container ID recognition systems for ports and customs gates. Sowell designs its products in-house but outsources manufacturing, keeping its fixed cost base lean. Products are installed and configured at customer sites, with after-sales support included. Revenue is transactional — each sale is a project-based, customized solution sold under individual purchase orders, with no significant recurring revenue. Customers include electronics manufacturers (notably Foxconn affiliates), technology companies, schools, and government agencies across China. Sowell's primary growth initiative is a Nine-Axis Linkage Spray Painting Robot for auto repair shops, which it plans to roll out under a leasing model charging rental fees tied to labor and paint cost savings. Sowell is building a dedicated production facility in Anhui province, with an ambitious multi-stage expansion plan targeting up to 8,000 robot sets per year by 2028 — a plan that requires substantial capital beyond what Sowell raised in its April 2025 Nasdaq IPO.
