DESCRIPTION

Devonian is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing Thykamine, a proprietary botanical drug candidate extracted from organic spinach thylakoid membranes. The company targets inflammatory and fibrotic diseases using the anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties of Thykamine. Devonian’s lead programs include a Phase 2/3 trial for pediatric atopic dermatitis and a clinical study for radiodermatitis prevention using a medical device pathway. Devonian also conducts research in ulcerative colitis, MASH, and pulmonary fibrosis. The company operates a proprietary pharmaceutical-grade extraction facility to produce Thykamine, while outsourcing final formulation to contract manufacturers. Devonian follows a licensing-based business model, aiming to advance drug candidates through clinical proof-of-concept before partnering with larger pharmaceutical companies for commercialization. Devonian does not intend to build its own sales infrastructure. While Devonian previously generated revenue through Altius Healthcare, a generic drug distribution subsidiary, the expiration of major distribution contracts shifted the company's focus toward R&D. Devonian is currently evaluating strategic options for Altius, including a potential divestiture. Devonian also owns a cosmeceutical line, Purgenesis, which it seeks to commercialize through a partner. Devonian aims to demonstrate the versatility of the Thykamine platform across multiple indications to secure development milestones and royalties.
