DESCRIPTION

Pictureworks International provides photo imaging services to theme parks, tourist attractions, and IP events in Asia, primarily Hong Kong and Singapore. The core service involves deploying photographers, equipment, and proprietary software at themed venues to capture, process, and sell souvenir photos to visitors. Pictureworks' direct customers are venue operators, while the ultimate photo buyers are the park visitors themselves. Venue relationships are typically structured as multi-year exclusive contracts. Pictureworks operates through two models: a Full Turnkey model, which accounts for the large majority of revenue, where Pictureworks manages the entire imaging operation and earns a share of photo sales revenue; and a Licensing model, where Pictureworks licenses its PictureAir software platform to customers who run their own operations, generating fixed monthly fees or a revenue share. The Full Turnkey model is labor-intensive, with photography and sales staff as the largest cost, making profitability sensitive to venue attendance and visitor conversion rates. The Licensing model carries very high gross margins with minimal ongoing involvement from Pictureworks. The customer base is highly concentrated — the top two customers, both Hong Kong venues, accounted for roughly two-thirds of revenue in FY2024, with Ocean Park Hong Kong alone contributing nearly half. Pictureworks' growth strategy centers on adding new venue contracts, expanding into new Asian markets (particularly Japan), growing the Licensing model, and integrating AI tools to improve photo conversion rates and reduce costs.
