NeOnc Technologies is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing treatments for brain cancers and other CNS diseases. The company has no approved products and no commercial revenue. NeOnc's core challenge — and thesis — is solving the blood-brain barrier (BBB) problem: most drugs cannot reach brain tumors because the BBB blocks them. NeOnc is developing drug delivery methods based on perillyl alcohol (POH), a naturally occurring compound, to bypass or open the BBB. Its two lead candidates are NEO100 and NEO212. NEO100 is a purified form of POH delivered via intranasal nebulizer, designed to travel directly from the nasal cavity to the brain via cranial nerves, bypassing the BBB entirely. NEO100 targets recurrent high-grade gliomas and malignant meningiomas, and is currently in Phase IIa trials for both indications. NEO212 is an oral drug created by conjugating POH to temozolomide, the standard-of-care chemotherapy for glioblastoma, with the goal of improving BBB penetration and overcoming a key resistance mechanism. NEO212 has completed Phase I and is advancing toward Phase 2a. NeOnc licenses its core patents from USC and relies on third-party contract manufacturers for drug supply. The company's plan is to advance its candidates toward FDA approval and then commercialize independently or via partnerships, and potentially license its delivery platform to other pharma companies.
