DESCRIPTION

Ludwig Enterprises (planning to rename itself Revealia Diagnostics) is an early-stage, pre-revenue company developing non-invasive, mRNA-based cancer screening tests. Ludwig's lead product is the Revealia Breast test, a cheek-swab assay that detects mRNA expression signatures associated with breast cancer. Patients collect a cheek-swab sample at home, mail it to a CLIA-certified lab, and Ludwig's 48-gene inflammatory biomarker panel and proprietary machine-learning algorithms generate a result indicating whether the patient should pursue further diagnostic evaluation. Ludwig argues that measuring active mRNA gene expression — rather than static DNA — enables earlier detection of active disease biology. Ludwig plans to launch a trial of the Revealia Breast test in Q2 2026, contingent on additional funding and further clinical validation. Ludwig's business model is B2B2C: tests are ordered through healthcare providers, employer health programs, and cancer centers, not sold directly to consumers. Ludwig plans to generate revenue on a per-test basis through two channels — licensing its algorithms to partner labs on a per-test fee basis, or receiving samples at its affiliated lab for analysis. Initially, revenue will depend on out-of-pocket patient payments, with the long-term model hinging on securing insurance reimbursement. Beyond breast cancer, Ludwig plans to apply the same platform to lung, ovarian, and pancreatic cancer screening, and sees longer-term opportunities licensing its biomarker panels and mRNA database to pharmaceutical companies.
