DESCRIPTION

COtwo Advisors Physical European Carbon Allowance Trust (CTWO) is an exchange-traded product that holds physical EU Carbon Emission Allowances (EUAs) on behalf of investors. EUAs are the unit of account within the European Union Emissions Trading System (EU ETS), the EU's cap-and-trade mechanism for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Each EUA represents the right to emit one metric ton of CO2 equivalent. The Trust gives investors direct exposure to EUA spot prices without requiring them to open EU registry accounts or navigate the EU ETS compliance framework. Shares trade on NYSE Arca, so investors can access EUA price exposure as easily as trading a stock. The Trust charges a Sponsor's Management Fee of 0.79% per annum of daily NAV, which is its only recurring expense and is paid by selling a small quantity of EUAs monthly. Because the Trust holds only physical EUAs and does not trade or speculate, its NAV moves directly with EUA spot prices. Shares are created and redeemed only in blocks of 50,000 shares by registered Authorized Participants, while individual investors buy and sell shares on NYSE Arca in the secondary market. EUA prices are driven by supply and demand within the EU ETS: supply is controlled by the EU through a fixed and declining annual auction, while demand comes primarily from power plants, industrial facilities, and airlines that must surrender EUAs to cover their emissions annually.
