DESCRIPTION

FibroBiologics is a clinical-stage biotech developing cell-based therapies using human fibroblasts — connective tissue cells involved in wound healing and immune regulation. The company has no approved products and no revenue. FibroBiologics argues that fibroblasts offer practical manufacturing advantages over mesenchymal stem cells, the more common cell therapy starting material: fibroblasts can be harvested non-invasively from skin donors, grow faster, and don't require expensive growth media. Critically, donor-derived fibroblasts appear to be immune-privileged, enabling an "off the shelf" therapy rather than a costly patient-specific one. The pipeline includes four active candidates: CYWC628, a topical fibroblast therapy for chronic wounds (Phase 1/2 planned for Q1 2026 in Australia); CYPS317, an IV fibroblast spheroid therapy for psoriasis (IND filed with the FDA in December 2025); CYMS101, an IV fibroblast therapy for multiple sclerosis (small Phase 1 study completed in Mexico; U.S. IND planned for H1 2026); and CybroCell, an intradiscally injected therapy for degenerative disc disease (IND clearance received in 2018, with clinical timing pending FDA discussions). FibroBiologics uses a single master cell bank as the manufacturing backbone across multiple programs and outsources all manufacturing to a CDMO. The company plans to self-fund earlier-stage programs while seeking partnerships for capital-intensive late-stage assets, with CYMS101 explicitly targeted for partnering. FibroBiologics holds 124 issued patents and 175 pending applications.
