DESCRIPTION

J-Long Group is a Hong Kong-based distributor of garment trims — the decorative and functional accessories used in apparel products. Its product line includes heat transfers, woven labels and tapes, sewing badges, zipper pulls, drawcords, and piping, used by apparel brands across outerwear, sportswear, safety workwear, and fashion. J-Long's most distinctive capability is its role as an authorized distributor and licensed converter of 3M's Scotchlite reflective materials in Asia Pacific, a relationship held since 2000. As a converter, J-Long cuts and shapes reflective materials to customer specifications and incorporates them into finished trim products. J-Long sells to apparel brand owners, apparel contract manufacturers, and local buying offices of brands, and has served over 100 international brands globally. The business model is asset-light: J-Long sources materials primarily from 3M and Chinese suppliers, then resells them — either as-is or after conversion — on a cost-plus basis. Production is largely outsourced to third-party converters in China, with J-Long's own Vietnam facility, opened in 2024, handling an increasing share. A key demand driver is brand nomination, where an apparel brand designates J-Long as an approved supplier, requiring its contract manufacturers to order from J-Long. Sales are run from Hong Kong, supplemented by commission-based consultants in Denmark, Italy, and Canada, placed near European and North American brand headquarters.
