DESCRIPTION

Adaptin Bio is an early-stage biopharmaceutical company developing a platform technology to deliver drugs across the blood-brain barrier (BBB) to treat brain cancer and other CNS disorders. Its core technology, called BRiTE (Brain Bispecific T-cell Engager), works by binding a bispecific antibody to circulating T cells, which naturally cross the BBB when activated, carrying the drug payload into the brain where it redirects T cells to attack tumor cells. Adaptin Bio's lead product candidate, APTN-101, applies BRiTE to glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), an aggressive brain tumor with a median survival of roughly 15 months under current standard of care. APTN-101 targets EGFRvIII, a mutated receptor expressed on GBM tumor cells in roughly 31-50% of patients but not on healthy tissue. Adaptin Bio has no revenue and is at the Phase 1 stage, with FDA IND acceptance and IRB approval for a first-in-human trial at Duke University. The company licensed its core technology from Duke in 2023 and operates with four employees, outsourcing all manufacturing and clinical work. If APTN-101 reaches commercialization, Adaptin Bio plans to sell directly in the U.S. for smaller patient populations and partner with larger pharmaceutical companies for broader or international markets. Beyond GBM, Adaptin Bio aims to expand APTN-101 into breast and lung cancer brain metastases and broaden its pipeline into other CNS disorders, autoimmune diseases, and cardiovascular conditions, though all of this is contingent on raising additional capital.
