DESCRIPTION

NANO Nuclear Energy is a pre-revenue, development-stage nuclear energy company founded in 2022 and focused on building advanced microreactors and a vertically integrated nuclear fuel supply chain. NANO's lead product is the KRONOS MMR, a modular high-temperature gas-cooled reactor (HTGR) using TRISO particle fuel and helium coolant, designed to produce roughly 15 MWe and 45 MWt per unit and scalable across multiple units. NANO acquired the KRONOS intellectual property out of the USNC bankruptcy for $8.5M in early 2025. NANO is targeting a construction permit application to the U.S. NRC in Q1 2026 for a full-scale prototype at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, with commercial launch targeted for the early 2030s. NANO also has two additional reactor programs — the LOKI MMR, a portable HTGR for remote and defense use, and the ZEUS, a solid-core microreactor currently in physical testing. Target customers include data centers, industrial facilities, military installations, and remote operations that need reliable off-grid power. Beyond reactors, NANO is developing a fuel processing business (through subsidiary HALEU Energy Fuel, with a stake in laser enrichment firm LIS Technologies), a fuel transportation business (holding an exclusive license for a HALEU transport basket design), and a nuclear consulting business. NANO has raised over $600M in equity since its May 2024 IPO and held roughly $580M in cash post-period-end, funding operations entirely through equity markets while generating no meaningful revenue.
