First, Starbox runs GETBATS, a cash rebate platform connecting merchants with shoppers — merchants offer rebates to attract customers, shoppers earn those rebates by transacting through the app, and Starbox keeps roughly 14% of rebates offered as its fee. GETBATS had about 2.5M registered members and 843 merchants as of September 2024, but transaction volumes have declined sharply and the platform generates minimal revenue today. Second, Starbox sells digital advertising services, using behavioral data collected from GETBATS to help advertisers design and place targeted ads across its SEEBATS video streaming platform, the GETBATS app, and social media influencers. Starbox also provides offline advertising, brand consulting, and production services through its 51%-owned subsidiary One Eighty. Third, Starbox licenses proprietary software — primarily an AI rebates calculation engine and data management system — to clients in Malaysia, the Philippines, and Hong Kong, charging upfront license fees plus recurring monthly support fees. Software licensing is currently the largest revenue segment. Starbox's broader strategy is to build a unified SME technology platform integrating VR/AR, AI analytics, and immersive advertising tools, targeting a 2028 launch. To that end, Starbox has acquired 18 software modules since late 2023, paying entirely in stock.
