VinFast is a Vietnamese EV manufacturer that designs and sells passenger EVs, e-scooters, and e-buses, headquartered in Hai Phong, Vietnam, and majority-owned by Vingroup. VinFast's core product is its passenger EV lineup, sold under three brands: VF (mass-market, ranging from mini to large SUVs), Green (commercial fleet EVs), and Lac Hong (ultra-luxury). The most affordable models — the VF 3 mini car and VF 5 SUV — drive the bulk of volume, while the Green commercial lineup is growing rapidly. VinFast also produces e-scooters, which it claims are the leading brand in Vietnam by volume, with deliveries exceeding EV deliveries in 2025. VinFast sells through a franchise dealer network across Vietnam, North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. Vietnam is the overwhelming revenue anchor, generating roughly 89% of total revenue. A notable feature of VinFast's model is its integration with two affiliated companies controlled by founder Pham Nhat Vuong: GSM, an EV ride-hailing platform that operates exclusively VinFast vehicles across Southeast Asia, and V-Green, a charging network operator — together forming a vertically integrated EV ecosystem. VinFast manufactures vehicles across four facilities in Vietnam, India, and Indonesia, with a combined capacity of roughly 600,000 vehicles per year. VinFast is not yet profitable at the gross level, and is pursuing profitability through volume scale and bill-of-materials reductions via its next-generation vehicle platform, in-house battery production through subsidiary VinEG, and supplier renegotiations. The company has been heavily funded by its founder and Vingroup since inception.
