DESCRIPTION

M-tron Industries designs and manufactures highly engineered electronic components and subassemblies used to control the frequency and timing of signals in electronic circuits. Mtron's products are used in aerospace and defense, avionics, space, and industrial applications — specifically in communications, navigation, radar, electronic warfare, and sensing systems where precise timing and signal reliability are critical. Mtron organizes its products into three groups: Frequency Control (quartz crystal resonators and oscillators), Spectrum Control (RF and microwave filters and amplifiers), and RF Solutions (higher-level integrated modules combining multiple components into a single assembly). Mtron is intentionally shifting its product mix toward higher-integration RF Solutions, which carry better margins and longer product life cycles. Mtron sells primarily to OEMs directly or through contract manufacturers and distributors. A key element of Mtron's business model is embedding its engineers early in a customer's design process to win qualification on specific programs, often resulting in sole-source positions — where Mtron is the only qualified supplier — that create sticky, long-term revenue streams. Mtron holds over 40 programs of record as of late 2025. Revenue is concentrated, with the top four customers accounting for roughly 61% of FY25 revenue. Backlog stood at $76.4M at year-end FY25. Mtron is pursuing growth through defense program expansion, an avionics recovery, a richer product mix in integrated RF assemblies, and bolt-on M&A targeting RF component companies with $5M-$15M in revenue.
