DESCRIPTION

NeuroSense Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biotech focused on developing treatments for neurodegenerative diseases. Its only meaningful program is PrimeC, an extended-release oral combination of two existing generic drugs — ciprofloxacin (an antibiotic) and celecoxib (an anti-inflammatory) — formulated at a fixed ratio designed to target multiple disease pathways simultaneously, including neuroinflammation, iron accumulation, and microRNA modulation. The primary indication is ALS, a fatal progressive disease with very limited approved treatments. PrimeC has completed a Phase 2b trial (PARADIGM) and long-term follow-up data showed patients on continuous PrimeC had median survival of 36.3 months versus 21.4 months for those who started on placebo. The FDA has cleared an IND for a Phase 3 trial targeting roughly 300 patients, with first enrollment targeted for 2026. NeuroSense is also pursuing early approval in Canada. Earlier-stage programs include a small Phase 2 proof-of-concept study in Alzheimer's disease and preclinical work on a related candidate for Parkinson's disease. NeuroSense has no product revenue and funds operations through capital raises. It outsources all manufacturing to third-party CDMOs and plans to use the FDA's 505(b)(2) pathway, which allows reliance on prior findings for the component drugs. PrimeC holds orphan drug status in both the U.S. and EU, providing market exclusivity upon approval — important given that its active ingredients are off-patent generics.
