DESCRIPTION

Dragonfly Energy makes and sells deep cycle lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries and integrated power system components under its Battle Born brand. Customers use these products to power appliances, electronics, and HVAC systems in RVs, marine vessels, and heavy-duty trucks — anywhere reliable off-grid or auxiliary power is needed. The core pitch is replacing lead-acid batteries: Battle Born LFP batteries last 3,000–5,000 cycles, charge up to five times faster, and weigh roughly one-fifth as much for equivalent energy. Beyond batteries, Dragonfly sells inverters, alternator regulators (Wakespeed), battery management systems (Dragonfly IntelLigence), and a lithium-powered auxiliary power unit (APU) for heavy-duty trucks, allowing it to sell complete integrated power systems rather than just individual batteries. Dragonfly sells through two channels: OEM/fleet/distributor (roughly 63% of revenues), where batteries are factory-installed by RV manufacturers like Airstream, THOR, and Forest River, or specified by trucking fleets like Werner Enterprises; and direct-to-consumer (roughly 37%), selling to RV owners and boaters in the aftermarket. OEM is the primary growth driver; DTC is mature and under pressure. Dragonfly assembles its products domestically in Reno, Nevada, sourcing LFP cells from Chinese suppliers. Beyond product sales, Dragonfly has a 7-year brand licensing contract with Stryten Energy expected to generate $30M, and also does contract manufacturing for Stryten. Looking ahead, Dragonfly is pursuing heavy-duty trucking as its largest near-term growth opportunity, and is developing proprietary dry-electrode cell manufacturing and solid-state battery technology, though commercial deployment has been pushed to at least 2027.
