DESCRIPTION

Payoneer is a fintech platform that helps SMBs transact across borders. Its core product is the Payoneer Account — a multi-currency account that lets businesses receive payments from global customers and marketplaces, hold balances in multiple currencies, and pay suppliers, employees, and vendors worldwide. Payoneer's customers include e-commerce sellers on platforms like Amazon and Alibaba, service businesses invoicing international clients, freelancers on gig platforms like Upwork, and businesses managing global supply chains. Payoneer serves nearly 2 million active customers across 190+ countries. Payoneer makes money two ways: transaction fees (a percentage of volume processed) and interest income on customer balances held on the platform. Customers held $7.9B on the platform in FY25, generating meaningful interest income, though this is declining as rates fall — Payoneer has hedged a portion of this exposure through 2028. Payoneer organizes its business around three segments: marketplace SMBs (sellers receiving payouts from e-commerce platforms), B2B SMBs (businesses paying and getting paid directly by other businesses), and enterprise payouts (large platforms like Airbnb using Payoneer's infrastructure to pay global contractor networks). B2B is now the fastest-growing segment. Payoneer's strategy focuses on moving upmarket toward larger, more complex SMBs, expanding its B2B product suite, and growing in priority markets including India, the UAE, and Mexico. Payoneer is also building out stablecoin capabilities and has applied for a U.S. national trust bank charter.
