MiNK Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing allogeneic, off-the-shelf cell therapies based on invariant natural killer T (iNKT) cells. iNKT cells are a rare immune cell type that can directly kill tumor cells while also activating other immune cells and suppressing the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. MiNK's lead product, agenT-797, is derived from healthy donors and, unlike autologous CAR-T therapies, requires no patient-derived cells, HLA matching, or lymphodepletion before administration. MiNK is targeting three indications with agenT-797: solid tumor cancers (including gastric, testicular, and renal cell), acute pulmonary immune failure (ARDS/severe pneumonia), and graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) prevention in stem cell transplant patients. agenT-797 is in Phase 2 development across all three indications. MiNK also has preclinical engineered iNKT programs, including CAR-iNKT constructs targeting FAP (solid tumors) and BCMA (multiple myeloma). MiNK is pre-revenue and funds operations through equity issuances and non-dilutive grants from NIH, DoD, and philanthropic sources. Several of MiNK's trials are externally sponsored, reducing the company's cash burden. Manufacturing is conducted in-house in Lexington, MA, using a proprietary closed-system process that MiNK claims can produce thousands of doses per donor. If products are approved, MiNK would sell doses to hospitals and transplant centers.
