Connect Biopharma is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company with a single drug candidate, rademikibart, targeting asthma and COPD. Rademikibart is a monoclonal antibody that blocks IL-4Rα, inhibiting signaling from both IL-4 and IL-13 — the cytokines that drive Type 2 airway inflammation. Connect's primary clinical focus is the acute exacerbation setting: treating patients actively experiencing a severe asthma or COPD episode in a hospital or emergency department, a setting where no approved biologic currently exists. Connect's commercial thesis is that patients treated acutely would then continue on rademikibart as a chronic therapy. Connect initiated two parallel Phase 2 trials in acute asthma and acute COPD in May 2025, with topline data expected in mid-2026. Connect also completed a Phase 2b trial in chronic asthma in 2023, where rademikibart met its primary endpoint on lung function improvement. Connect has no approved products and no product revenue. Its primary revenue source is a licensing deal with Simcere Pharmaceutical covering Greater China across all indications, from which Connect has received $21M in upfront payments and $6.5M in milestones to date, with up to ~$110M in additional milestones and tiered royalties remaining. Outside of Greater China, Connect retains all rights and funds development internally. Connect is headquartered in San Diego with operations in Taicang, China.
