DESCRIPTION

Serve Robotics develops and operates autonomous sidewalk delivery robots for last-mile food delivery. Serve's robots navigate sidewalks at Level 4 autonomy — meaning they operate without a human actively supervising each robot — and a single remote operator can oversee multiple robots simultaneously, which lowers cost per delivery relative to less autonomous alternatives. Customers place orders through Uber Eats or DoorDash as normal, and a robot picks up the order from a restaurant and delivers it to the curb, where the customer unlocks the cargo compartment via app or touchscreen code. As of year-end 2025, Serve operated roughly 2,000 third-generation robots across 20 cities in six U.S. metro areas, integrating with over 4,500 restaurant and retail merchants. In January 2026, Serve acquired Diligent Robotics, adding a fleet of indoor hospital robots ("Moxi") that handle logistics tasks like delivering medications and lab samples to clinical staff. Serve earns revenue from per-delivery fees, exterior robot advertising (which management believes could eventually represent up to 50% of fleet revenues), software licensing to third parties, proprietary data licensing, and recurring healthcare contracts. Profitability improves as robots log more daily operating hours, complete more deliveries per hour, and drive more miles fully autonomously — reducing the cost of remote human supervision. Serve's growth strategy centers on a data flywheel: more robots in more cities generate proprietary sensor data that trains better AI models, which are pushed via software updates to the entire fleet, improving performance and enabling expansion into new markets.
