DESCRIPTION

XPeng designs, develops, manufactures, and sells smart electric vehicles primarily to middle-class consumers in China, targeting the mid- to high-end segment. XPeng's lineup spans sedans (MONA M03, P7+, Next P7), SUVs (G6, G7, G9), and a large MPV (X9), with prices ranging from roughly RMB 100,000 to over RMB 400,000. All models are available in BEV form, and XPeng is expanding into EREV variants under a "one vehicle, dual energy" strategy, combining a battery and fuel tank to extend range and reduce range anxiety. XPeng differentiates primarily on in-house technology: it develops its own ADAS software (VLA 2.0), AI chip (Turing SoC), and smart cockpit OS (XOS Tianji), and all vehicles receive OTA updates. Revenue comes primarily from vehicle sales, with a smaller but growing contribution from after-sales services, auto financing, carbon credits, and technology licensing. XPeng also has a multi-faceted partnership with Volkswagen, licensing its EV platform, ADAS software, and E/E architecture for jointly developed vehicles in China, with milestone-based revenue recognition and plans to supply the Turing SoC to Volkswagen at scale. XPeng sells through ~720 company-owned and franchised stores across China and is expanding internationally, with overseas deliveries reaching roughly 15% of total revenue in FY25. Beyond vehicles, XPeng is developing a robotaxi service and a humanoid robot (IRON), both built on the same underlying AI infrastructure.
