Kiromic BioPharma is a clinical-stage biotech developing allogeneic Gamma Delta T-cell (GDT) therapies for solid tumors — a disease area where no cell therapy is currently approved. Allogeneic therapies use cells from healthy donors rather than from the patient, enabling off-the-shelf availability with no lead time, lower manufacturing costs, and potential for outpatient treatment. This contrasts with autologous CAR-T therapies, where cells must be extracted, engineered, and re-infused for each patient individually. Kiromic has three product candidates: Deltacel, a non-engineered GDT therapy in a Phase 1 trial for Stage 4 non-small cell lung cancer; Isocel, an engineered GDT therapy in preclinical development targeting Mesothelin-positive solid tumors; and Procel, an engineered GDT therapy also in preclinical development targeting PD-L1. Deltacel is the most advanced, having received FDA Fast-Track Designation in August 2024, with ten patients enrolled as of early 2025. Kiromic manufactures its therapies in-house at its Houston, Texas facility in roughly 4,000 sq ft of clean-room space. The company has no revenue and funds operations through equity financing. Kiromic's longer-term pipeline strategy is supported by its proprietary Diamond AI platform, which identifies cancer-specific protein variants across 38 cancer types to generate new therapeutic targets.
