DESCRIPTION

Instil Bio is a clinical-stage biotechnology company with no approved products and no active drug development program. Its most recent candidate, AXN-2510, a bispecific antibody targeting PD-L1 and VEGF family proteins for solid tumor cancers, was discontinued in January 2026 shortly after being in-licensed from ImmuneOnco in August 2024. Prior to AXN-2510, Instil Bio was developing TIL (tumor infiltrating lymphocyte) cell therapies for cancer. The company is now in a transitional state, actively seeking to in-license or acquire new therapeutic candidates in diseases with significant unmet medical need. With just 17 full-time employees as of December 2025, Instil Bio is essentially operating as a holding company searching for its next asset. The company funds operations through capital markets and does not generate revenue from drug sales. Instil Bio also owns a subsidiary, Complex Therapeutics, which holds a roughly 128,000 sq ft clinical and commercial manufacturing facility in Tarzana, California, currently leased to AstraZeneca. This facility provides modest rental income but is incidental to the company's core mission. Value creation depends entirely on Instil Bio's ability to identify a promising candidate, fund its development, and either commercialize it or attract a partner or acquirer.
