DESCRIPTION

CoreWeave is a cloud infrastructure company purpose-built for AI workloads. Unlike general-purpose cloud providers, CoreWeave designed its platform from scratch around AI computing — high-density GPU clusters, low-latency networking, optimized storage, and AI-native orchestration software. The core product is GPU compute capacity, used by customers to train large AI models and run inference. Customers include frontier AI labs like OpenAI and Mistral, hyperscalers that overflow their own capacity, and a growing set of AI-native enterprises in financial services, healthcare, and media. CoreWeave sells primarily through direct enterprise sales, with contracts structured as multi-year take-or-pay commitments where customers pay for a fixed amount of compute capacity regardless of actual usage. CoreWeave operates 43 data centers across the U.S., Europe, and Canada, with NVIDIA GPUs as its primary hardware. Beyond raw compute, CoreWeave offers proprietary software — including Mission Control (orchestration and fleet management) and SUNK (cluster management for large-scale AI research) — as well as AI-optimized storage. CoreWeave has also acquired several developer tools, most notably Weights & Biases, a widely used AI development platform, to expand its offering up the stack into model training, fine-tuning, and inference. The business is highly capital-intensive, financed primarily through asset-backed debt matched to specific customer contracts. CoreWeave had $66.8B in contracted revenue backlog at year-end 2025, providing strong revenue visibility over a roughly five-year average contract term.
