DESCRIPTION

BitGo is a digital asset infrastructure company that provides custody, wallet, and financial services to institutional clients, including crypto-native firms, exchanges, fintechs, financial institutions, and governments. BitGo's core product is qualified custody — holding clients' digital assets in segregated, bankruptcy-remote accounts using cold storage and hot wallet technology. BitGo operates as a regulated qualified custodian and received an OCC federal bank charter in December 2025. A key part of BitGo's positioning is that it does not trade against, lend against, or rehypothecate client assets, which it argues sets it apart from vertically integrated crypto exchanges. Built on top of custody, BitGo offers staking (earning commissions on client staking rewards), agency trading through BitGo Prime (earning spreads and fees on client transactions), and over-collateralized institutional lending. BitGo also offers two early-stage Infrastructure-as-a-Service products: Stablecoin-as-a-Service, which lets institutions issue USD-backed stablecoins using BitGo's trust infrastructure, and Crypto-as-a-Service, an API-based offering that lets fintechs and financial institutions embed crypto functionality into their own platforms. BitGo's revenue is driven by custody fees, staking commissions, trading volumes, and lending fees, and is meaningfully exposed to crypto market cycles — higher digital asset prices lift the dollar value of assets on platform, staking balances, and trading volumes. As of year-end 2025, BitGo held approximately $81.6B in assets on platform across 5,320+ clients in 100+ countries.
