DESCRIPTION

Utz Brands makes and sells branded salty snacks in the U.S., including potato chips, tortilla chips, pretzels, cheese snacks, pork skins, and popcorn. Utz is the third-largest branded salty snack platform nationally, with roughly 4.4% of total U.S. salty snack retail sales, and the second-largest in its Core Geographies (Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, and Southeast). Utz sells through grocery, mass merchant, club, convenience, drug, and other retail channels. The company manages its portfolio in two buckets: Branded Salty Snacks (the growth priority) and Non-Branded & Non-Salty Snacks (managed for cash flow). The core branded portfolio is anchored by four brands: the flagship Utz brand, On The Border tortilla chips, Boulder Canyon (a premium better-for-you chip brand and Utz's fastest-growing brand), and Zapp's (premium kettle chips). A key feature of Utz's business model is its Direct-Store-Delivery network, which uses roughly 2,500 routes operated by Independent Operators who deliver directly to over 84,700 retail stores, enabling strong in-store execution. Utz's growth strategy focuses on geographic expansion westward, particularly into California, increased marketing investment, and supply chain productivity. Utz is consolidating its manufacturing footprint from roughly 14 plants to 8, targeting roughly $150M in cumulative cost savings through 2026 to fund margin expansion and reinvestment in branded growth.
