DESCRIPTION

Longeveron is a clinical-stage biotech developing a single cell therapy, laromestrocel (Lomecel-B), across multiple disease indications. Laromestrocel is an allogeneic cell therapy made from mesenchymal stem cells sourced from bone marrow of young, healthy adult donors, with pro-vascular, pro-regenerative, and anti-inflammatory properties. Longeveron has no approved products and generates minimal revenue today. The company's lead program targets Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), a rare congenital heart defect affecting roughly 1,000 U.S. newborns annually, with only about 50% surviving to age 15 without a transplant. Laromestrocel is injected into the heart muscle during the second-stage surgery, with the goal of improving right ventricular function. The pivotal Phase 2b trial (ELPIS II) completed enrollment in June 2025, with top-line results expected in Q3 2026 and a potential BLA filing in 2027. Longeveron also holds RMAT and Fast Track designations for laromestrocel in mild Alzheimer's disease, where the FDA has agreed a BLA could be supported by positive interim results from a single Phase 2/3 trial — though Longeveron is seeking a partner to fund that program. A pediatric dilated cardiomyopathy program is planned for 2027. Longeveron funds operations through equity raises and grants, supplemented by small revenue from contract manufacturing and a fee-based registry in The Bahamas.
