DESCRIPTION

Hoth Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing drug candidates for oncology side effects, rare cancers, and neurological disease. Hoth has no approved products and no commercial revenue. Its most advanced asset is HT-001, a topical treatment for skin rashes caused by EGFR inhibitor drugs used in cancer therapy. EGFR inhibitors commonly cause skin toxicities severe enough to force dose reductions or treatment discontinuation, and HT-001 aims to manage these side effects so patients can stay on their cancer therapy. HT-001 is currently in a Phase 2a clinical trial in the U.S., with expansion underway into Europe. Hoth's second key program is HT-KIT, a preclinical drug candidate targeting the KIT receptor in mast cells, aimed at treating rare mast cell cancers and anaphylaxis; it has received FDA Orphan Drug Designation for mastocytosis. The remaining pipeline — covering Alzheimer's, atopic dermatitis, asthma, and obesity — is at early preclinical stages. Hoth operates with just two full-time employees, outsources all manufacturing to contract manufacturers, and licenses its core intellectual property from universities including George Washington University, NC State, and the University of Cincinnati. The company funds operations through equity financing. If any product reaches approval, Hoth intends to partner with larger pharmaceutical companies for commercialization, meaning potential future revenue would come from licensing fees, milestones, and royalties rather than direct product sales.
