DESCRIPTION

Optimum Communications (formerly Altice USA) is a regional cable and broadband company serving roughly 4.3 million residential and business customers across 21 states, with operations concentrated in the New York metro area and south-central U.S. markets. Broadband internet is the core product — customers pay monthly subscription fees for tiered speeds on either Optimum's legacy HFC network or its expanding fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network, which now passes about 3.1 million homes. Optimum serves roughly 3.8 million broadband subscribers, and ARPU has been growing as customers migrate to faster tiers. Video remains a meaningful but structurally declining revenue line, as cord-cutting shrinks the subscriber base; Optimum has partially offset this by aggressively renegotiating programming costs. Mobile is a newer product delivered via an MVNO agreement with T-Mobile, with 623,000 lines and growing — mobile is strategically important because bundled broadband-and-mobile customers churn at meaningfully lower rates. Business services include SMB broadband and telephony, plus Lightpath, a majority-owned enterprise fiber subsidiary serving hyperscaler, carrier, and enterprise customers across metro fiber networks, which is growing double-digits driven by AI infrastructure demand. Optimum also operates News 12 local channels and an advertising business in the NY tri-state area. The business is capital-intensive and carries substantial debt, making cost discipline and margin expansion a top priority alongside continued FTTH buildout.
