WarmUp Technology is a development-stage health-tech company building a line of wearable back compression devices that apply heat therapy to relieve muscle stiffness and back pain. The core product line, called WarmUp, has three variants: the J4 Core, a general-purpose everyday device; the J4 Sport, a dual-zone heated device targeting chronic back pain patients for which the company is pursuing FDA Class 1 medical device classification; and the J4 X, which combines heat with electrical muscle stimulation to target abdominal and lower back muscles via Bluetooth. As of mid-2023, WarmUp Technology has no customers and no revenue from its wearable business — products exist only as beta samples manufactured in China. The intended business model is direct-to-consumer sales, with marketing driven by professional athlete endorsers on social media. FDA classification for the J4 Sport is also a priority, as it would allow patients to obtain the device through insurance, expanding the addressable market. WarmUp Technology also owns a small subsidiary, Sustainable Origins, which converts used cooking oil into biodiesel and sells to roughly 25 customers. Management intends for Sustainable Origins to generate near-term revenue to help fund WarmUp's product development and commercialization costs.
